In 1903, Earl Richardson developed a lightweight, smaller version of the electric iron. His invention was name Hotpoint because of the heating elements in the tip of the iron, allowing it to be used around buttons and ruffles. George Hughes, after many attempts create an electric range, that revolutionized the way we cook in our kitchens.
Hughes and Richardson joined forces, creating the Hotpoint brand, which went on to launch many industry firsts.
Hotpoint is well-known for washing machines and refrigerators. At one time Hotpoint produced the largest amount of kitchen appliances in the UK.
