Inglis is a Canadian company founded in 1913 by John Inglis who specialized in producing machinery for grist and flour mills.
This company made weapons for the British Commonwealth and United Kingdom during World War II before becoming a major appliance company. In 1987 The Whirlpool corporation bought out Inglis and in 2001, changed its name to Whirlpool.
