The Canadian appliance company, Moffat, was acquired by General Electric in GE’s acquisition of W.C. Wood in 2009. GE continues to manufacture appliances bearing the Moffat brand. In its heyday (1950s-1980s), Moffat stoves were considered the best in Canada. Today a limited number of Moffat branded appliances are available in the country. Moffat’s dishwashers, stoves/ranges, fridges, freezers, washers, and dryers are geared toward the builder and rental property markets.
